Restore your purchase

New phone, or reinstalled the app? Your unlock is tied to the store account you bought it with, not to us:

  1. Sign in with the account you purchased with: your Apple account on iPhone, your Google account on Android.
  2. Open Cardpile → Settings → Restore Purchases.

On iPhone, Family Sharing is enabled, so household members share your unlock at no extra cost. Apple and Google purchases are separate.

Importing your Anki decks

Export your deck from Anki as an .apkg (or your whole collection as a .colpkg), then open it in Cardpile from Create, Import a file. Older and current exports both work. Formatting, tags, subdecks, images, audio and cloze cards come across, and you choose whether to keep your Anki progress. Anki’s image occlusion notes and video are not imported; the import screen counts them first and a report is saved.

Where your decks live

On iPhone, Cardpile can sync your decks through your own iCloud, not a server of ours. Make sure you’re signed into iCloud and that iCloud Drive is on, and your decks follow you to your other devices automatically.

On Android, your decks stay on the phone and there is no sync: nothing to sign into and nothing to switch on. If you keep your collection in Anki, importing the same .apkg on another device is the way to have it in both places.

On both, there’s no account to create and nothing of yours sits anywhere we can read it.
