Tap a card to flip it, then rate how it went on a four-button row: Again, Hard, Good, Easy. Under each button you can see the interval that grade would set, so you know the consequence of your answer before you tap. Cardpile reschedules the card and moves you to the next one that’s due.

Yes. Anki packages ending in .apkg or .colpkg, from older and current Anki versions, come across with their formatting, tags, subdecks, images, audio and cloze cards. You choose whether to keep your Anki progress or start fresh. Anki’s image occlusion notes, video and links to online media are not imported; the import screen counts them before anything is written, and a report is saved.

Yes. CSV and TSV files and pasted two-column lists get a preview of the real cards, with the columns and the deck to choose, before anything is saved.

Open Settings, then Backup, restore and export. “Back up everything” writes one .cardpile file with every deck, card, image and recording; open it on the other device with Restore. It works between iPhone, iPad and Android, and restoring only adds what is missing.

Draft cards with Apple Intelligence or Gemini Nano on supported devices, with a rules-based helper elsewhere. The screen names the source; your notes stay on the device. Paste notes or choose pages from a PDF or photo, review the drafts and keep the ones you want. Five kept drafts a day are free; with Pro there is no daily limit.

On your device. On iPhone and iPad they can also be kept in your own iCloud account (the CloudKit private database) so they follow you across your Apple devices, and Your data shows when iCloud last synced. The Android app has no sync and keeps every deck on the phone; a backup file moves them. Either way there’s no account of ours and no server of ours that holds your decks, we have no access to them and could not read them.

No. You open the app and start making and studying decks: no email, no password, no sign-in. The only thing tied to an account is the purchase itself, which belongs to the store account you bought it with. Sync through your own iCloud is the one other thing you can switch on, on iPhone and iPad.

Pro is a one-time purchase. You keep what you bought; there is no subscription and nothing renews.

Restore your unlock on the same platform with the store account used to buy it. Open Settings, then Restore Purchases. Apple and Google purchases are separate; buying on one platform does not unlock the other. Family Sharing is included on iOS.

Through the store you bought it from, like every app purchase. On iPhone, request one at reportaproblem.apple.com; on Android, through your order history in Google Play. If something isn’t working, write to us anyway, we’d rather fix it.
